    Number 1 has issues.

    Yes wage growth in 2023 was higher than inflation by a margin of 1.3%. That fails to take into account the 7% and 6.5% inflation of '21 and '22. So people are still way behind in recent years.

    Also, while by income rates, “Gen Z are now wealthier than any previous generation.” That doesn’t include the drastic increase in housing costs. So while they do have more money, more still have to live with their parents, and delay starting their own separate life, than previous generations. Even that extra money isn’t enough.

              The employees of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics favorite beverage is likely coffee actually. Don’t know what it is you smoke, but you should consider quitting, and then come outside to see the real world of reality. Some sunshine would be good for your health.

                Wages barely out paced inflation this year… What about prior 2 years?

                Also, and you have to accept official figures for this to even make sense. Official figures that do voodoo calcs on things like housing cost among other bullshit.

                  Would be nice to be paid for helping people leave reddit. But I’m sure the US Bureau of Labor Statistics don’t care who reads their output. They are only paid to collect and publish the data.

                  What about prior 2 years?

                  I dunno. If you think that is more important than last year’s data, then why don’t you look up that information…from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics data.
