Clips show people bound, beaten, their limbs forced into unnatural positions; IDF says video shows terror group’s ‘brutal method’ of repressing dissent
Whataboutism
No. Both are bad. Both should cease.
Yes, by definition it is whataboutism.

Whataboutism or whataboutery (as in “what about …?”) is a pejorative for the strategy of responding to an accusation with a counter-accusation instead of a defense against the original accusation.
Not liking that doesn’t make it not whataboutism.
No. Whataboutism is meant to deflate an argument, saying that since someone else does something bad, this is acceptable. I am saying that both are doing it, and both are bad because of it.
Wrong.
Post is about Hamas torturing people. “But what about Israel” is whataboutism.
I will not litigate bad faith arguments with you anymore. And that description of deflation you provided definitely fits your argument. I know this because the original comment makes no mention of “both sides bad.” Just Israel. Over.
I don’t believe a word that comes out of the IDF. Not one word.
“See, Hamas does the same thing we do. We are justified in the wholesale slaughter of women and children, this is a just and righteous genocide.”
“IDF says” is inevitably followed by a lie so there is that.
Oh no, torturing them in “brutal” method and their “limb” in unnatural position.
Meanwhile here the most kids with missing limbs in recent history and 70% of kids and women murder, along with rape and uncountable other crimes…
Media should stop reporting their statement like it is the only truth like wtf
Yeah, it’s not like anyone is saying Hamas are great, but it’s a bit rich for Israel to be saying they care about Palestinian victims of Hamas when they do the same to their prisoners and are actively engaged in ethnic cleansing.

Cant say im suprised.
Interesting how the response in comments entirely depends on whose doing the torturing despite the fact that in both cases we’re still talking about the same group of civilians.
Agreed.
