Fantastic scene when he convinces the cancer-stricken Marlboro man to accept the hush money. Just a gem of a movie.
I like how he teaches his son that the asignment he is writing about “why america is the greatest country in the world” can be about anything
Polly: You didn’t tell her about us, did you?
Nick: Who? … Heather? No! … I mean, maybe in passing.
Polly: In passing.
Bobby: Oh God, he fucked her. I tried to warn you …
Polly: Hey, he didn’t fuck her. You didn’t fuck her, did you? … When?
Bobby: In passing.
Recently re-watched this and it still holds up. Fun fact: no one smokes in the entire film.
And if you’re a smoker, it makes you crave one real bad.
Aaron Eckhart is fantastic in this movie. It’s easily his best performance.
I have an ex-friend who turned out to be a sociopath.
He LOVED this movie unironically. He laughed at it, but I think he also used it as a reference manual.
Poe’s law is a thing.
