      Allegedly this emergency measure was taken in order to create a pressure wave to extinguish the fire. The method has proven to be effective, according to the fire service.

      Good luck doing that with bullets…

    For forest fires there’s a technique that is very often used called “back burning” where you light fires in front of where a large fire is spreading, so the large fire meets up where you start the smaller fire and it runs out of fuel it can burn, since the small fire already ate the fuels up.

    Well they’ve made a gun that shoots what look like large paintballs that are filled with potassium nitrate and this lets you start the smaller fires up from further away. The balls are named Dragon Eggs and the gun that shoots them is called a Pyroshot.

    So yes. We have made a gun to put out fires with.
