In this instance, should we ban NSFL, hardcore gore content? I think it’s not a problem since anyone can subscribe to the community they want but if the vast majority don’t want it, we can ban it. Decisions must be made from the beginning.

Edit: Looks like we are going to ban it. Commenters are right that we cannot currently list NSFW and NSFL content separately on the homepage. Since anyone can open an instance, we should let other people to open an instance on lemmynsfl.com. Also moderating these communities can be hard too. So it’s okay.
I’m surprised that all the scat communities were banned as NSFL without any warning or discussion here. What’s up with that?
According to our poll, we had already banned NSFL. We decided among the admins that scat content is within the scope of NSFL and therefore we banned it too.
This is not okay. Unlike gore which clearly has significant ethical issues, scat causes no harm and is simply disliked by many people. Scat is already banned in many places of discussion, meaning that people in this fetish are forced to gather in places where actual child porn and bestiality is, because they literally have no other choice.
Don’t do this to us, please. The community did not ask for this. Please, throw us a lifeline. Don’t make us go to a scummy instance full of creeps and actual pedophiles.
EDIT: How can I raise this with the admin team? I’d like to make my argument to repeal this decision and have you guys look at it one last time. We might be able to come to a happier solution ❤

It really should. If you feel like “people consensually shitting on eachother” is the same as “people raping children” then you need to realize there’s a difference between " I don’t like this" and “this is illegal, rape, and deeply damaging to society”

Yes. Is this supposed to be a difficult question to answer? I have zero interest in being on a website with those categories. I like porn and I’m into weird stuff, but I don’t like it that much. I don’t understand how that’s a real question. If my interests were only found on sites with child porn and bestiality I would just do without. I would also start to re-think what I’m into if it’s only found on those sites.
That still should have been communicated to the mods of those communities, rather than just banning with no notice.
How have these communities been banned without any notice? How are you better or different than Spez? I fully agree with what @Leanne is saying, scat is not ethically wrong, it’s just disliked by people. You should have opened a dialogue about it instead of straight up banning it for a reason that doesn’t even make sense. We do not deserve this.
