Self driving cars are perfectly safe and any deaths that happen due to this rule change are isolated incidents.

Please, explain to me how private folks can so openly influence the government for personal gain. Governments in most democratic countries would dissolve over this.
Because America hasn’t been a democracy in decades. It’s all run by the billionaires.
It’s kind of amazing how the world’s wealthiest man has the ear of the president and this doesn’t set off any alarms for people who want to “drain the swamp.”
