Officially, it’s “bigotry”, unofficially it’s a catch-all so that when someone brings it up their more prominent users can make declarations like this:
“routinely the actual reasons people are mad at .ml is getting banned/ censored for being bigoted”
What is “Rule 1”? Is it “Thou shall not have a different opinion.”?

thou shalt not say things that are censored in china….
Funnily enough it seems like lemmy.ml and lemmygrad.ml are also censored in China via their great firewall.
Edit: lemmy.ml is still blocked, but lemmygrad apparently not.
because westerners can access it
Except lemmy.world is not (last time the topic came up, but I haven’t checked since).
that would be kinda hard to determine for sure
There are some websites that use a VPN inside China that let you check if your website is accessible there.
i wouldn’t trust that
They work pretty well, here is one I use often for work: https://www.experte.com/internet-censorship/china
Seems lemmy.world not blocked now:
I’m actually in China so I’ll turn my VPN off to see if it’s accurate:
Yeah seems unblocked in China:
No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia.
Only in actual fact, though ashamedly never written down anywhere irl in a manner that is so clear and understandable.
