True. But this comes on top of aforementioned lack of infrastructure. Paddling is not fun on a two-lane road where cars go 90 kp/h with no cycling lane.

E-bikes, while more expensive, completely flatten hills. They’re also fantastic for carrying cargo, and yes, groceries.
