Stremio has been useless until I got fiber internet. Now it’s my preferred way to watch stuff.
Using two different browsers should be the norm imo. One for comfort, performance and compatibility, like Chrome, Edge or Opera, and the other one for privacy, like Firefox, UGC, Tor, DDG, etc.
The two things that matter when choosing a distro - package managers and desktop environment/window manager. And even then, universal package managers like Flatpak, Snap and AppImage can provide a substitute for the package managers.
I pretty much replaced Reddit with Lemmy, and might even delete my Reddit account at some point. I think I’m not visiting this website often enough, but that’s because it’s not as tantalizing as Reddit, especially on web. But I do want to visit this place more often. I don’t want to miss out on what’s happening.
Threads when isolated from this community: GOOD.
Threads when federated with this community: NOT GOOD.
It is your choice whether to use it or not. The Fediverse is like the Linux of social media, I like it more here and on other fedi apps than on the corporate social media.

Exactly. Been using this website for now as a replacement for Reddit, and not really using Mastodon much. On Mastodon you have to refollow a bunch of people, Twitter still works for me as a microblogging platform, despite being owned by someone I do not respect in any way.
You don’t need more than two or three, it’s all federated, so you can access most accounts and communities from all sites on any of these sites, which is one of my favorite things about this whole thing
Microblogs are a very cool feature, but it’s a shame that it is one button on the top of the page that looks similar to the other buttons that you’d mostly ignore it if you weren’t actively looking for it
The devs should just make this a default built-in thing like in Reddit.
PWAs only work on Chromium web browsers, though there are some that install on Firefox on Mobile. Yes, I can jsut use Brave, but it’s syncing is awful and I bet there are old accounts of mine floating with an expired passphrase. Granted, I now save my bookmarks, passwords etc. in various other places where I can access them from any device anywere.
This explains things really well. Beehaw’s goal is to be the tight-knit, invite only home for all kinds of people. It’s not supposed to be a Reddit alternative, but a thing of its own. However, KBin and other instances aren’t blocked yet from federating with them, and making a new instance is also an option, so it’s not like all is lost. This is a reason why having more than one account helps.
I suggest you to go to lemmyverse.net to explore communities and instances.

I’m not sure, but it is a 502 error so it’s likely just some server-related thing
It just says 502 Bad Gateway. I’m not even sure if the block is intentional on their part, or a server issue of some sort.
Gestures aren’t very convenient if I’m watching videos in full screen mode or when typing on the keyboard. There are many problems with gesture nav in Android, let alone MIUI. It’s not worth keeping the default launcher for this.
