My understanding is that socialists, anarchists, and others that might be considered “the left”, tend to love democracy. They love it so much they want to see it spread from government into the workplace. Governments that operate according to democratic republican* principals are not the enemy of the left - they’re part of it.
*note the lower case letters - not talking about political parties, but representative democracy as a philosophy

The battery’s chemistry isn’t important to the end user. Price, capacity, longevity, and charge time is. If we assume CATL inflates their stats by the amount that’s standard for their market, we can infer their new battery is almost as good as Tesla’s old battery in terms of mechanical utility to the end user - their only hope of competing is to win big on price.
I hope they can win that competition. I’d love to see GM produce an EV that’s almost as good as a Tesla and a lot cheaper.
Avoiding GM and using the most current tech are both bad ideas, for the same reason: Tesla is owned by a horrible person.
After subtracting the expected quantity of deception in Chinese advertising, this new battery tech from China is still not as good as what Tesla has already been making for the last several years.
Wait a minute, companies that run charging stations now want local businesses to pay them for the privilege of installing one of their chargers? Instead of the company selling the recharging to EV owners paying the local business rent for use of their real estate?
Right? Venus, Earth, and Mars should all be pretty similar. Mercury should be about the size of the moon or a little bigger. Jupiter doesn’t need to be fuck off huge, but at least a bit bigger than Saturn.

I’ve read that a shaped charge’s armor piercing jet of plasma has a fairly long reach. A direct hit with the plasma spear directed toward the center of the vehicle would probably still pierce the vehicle. However, a cage like that might provide protection from a glancing blow, where the plasma jet is not directed toward the center of mass - like, instead of getting a hole through the corner of the roof, the jet misses entirely.

Maybe they have a different log in for when they’ve changed into a black cat? Like, maybe there’s no capital letters in their fursona’s password, because its hard to use the Shift key when you have beans instead of fingers?
Back in the day it was the best at what it did, but there’s less demand these days for that kind of old fashioned search.
Its still better than the competition at finding the URL of a corporate or government entity. Its still helpful for searching other websites for particular content - for example, the wikis for some games have an obtuse layout and unhelpful search function, and google can be the best way to find a particular page in that wiki.
Before ChatGPT existed, and before the enshitifaction of Reddit reached the critical level its at today, google searching site:reddit.com was pretty good at finding organic human conversations that provide actual answers to your questions.
Today however, ChatGPT is better at providing useful answers to whatever questions you may have. And Bing is better at image search.
