Struggling actually.

I’m retraining into another sector, and so I’m taking a course on it. It’s not that I fail to understand the information in the course, I struggle with the academic writing, and so can’t communicate that understanding in the way the course demands. Which is unfortunate as I’m retraining into a communication based sector, being able to understand needs and communicate ideas is kinda the whole deal, makes me feel like I’m not cut out for it.

Compounded with that, I don’t feel the course is setting me up for success, it keeps asking me to describe “how things work” in my organisation. I’m taking the course to learn how things work in such organisations, funnily they aren’t keen on posting internal policies on the public web for me to find and describe. So, it’s asking me to first conceive of a system I have zero familiarity with, then describe that system in a language no-one speaks in the real world.

On top of that my fiancée and I just moved and I’m the primary homemaker, so there’s all those stresses and time sinks I’m falling behind on.

On the plus side, my motorcycle is in the livingroom so that’s nice, it makes a pretty ornament as well as a fun toy and useful tool. We have a washing machine arriving tomorrow, so I can do laundry in the house which will save me time. And I booked a week off work, mostly so I can catch up, but instead I seem to have wasted it all.

Wildermyth is just so endearing I loved my time with it.

Taking the same character through each campaign was pretty fun like I was making a serialised demi-god: Doofus and the mountain horde, Doofus and the ancient threat etc. Because characters age though the campaign, it has interesting implications in the world lore. Like we’re an archivist document the various legends of Doofus, acknowledging where they contradict and maybe speculating on how the differences in each culture’s legend of Doofus reflects back.

Downside is I optimised the fun out of the combat in always having Doofus at the center of the strategy, each encounter then played out the same.

Waiting for a call from the National Careers Service for help starting a new life in Consumer Advocacy. 33 years and I finally have an aspiration worth a damn. Currently, I’m working menial jobs as physio therepy to help me recover from a traffic accident some years ago. It allows me to stick headphones in and widen my knowledge base via audio books and headphones (just finished History of Rome, 10 out of 10, have already forgotten the beginning so will go again) while getting an enforced light workout.

But, I’m done with that now… Maybe not done with that, depending on if I can source on the job training or of I have to go back to school. I’m nervous about committing to a full time position; part time plus homemaking is still a bit of an ask for me, but I usually don’t do things till I’m forced to so shrug. Commit and deal with it I guess.

Also, heading out to a tailor to get my trousers fitted for a wedding next week, so that’s nice. But also dealing with landlord and letting agent issues so that’s not nice. All in all, can’t complain.

That was me, I was raised Mormon so I had a lot of common sense that turned out to be unquestioned prejudice. Not a defence of who I was though, I was a prick.

Looking back the bark busters were ‘meh’ on purchase, I probably figured I could remove them. But after running them as an ‘all weather’ rider, I’m putting them on all future bikes. Not the weirdest setup, I knew a GSXR with mittens.

But, this person most likely rode a KTM, which are primarily white and orange, and KTM riders love buying orange gear to match, lol

I have the RG35XX + 128GB Sandisc SD card + GarlicOS + Best set go. As a toe in the water set up it’s awesome, 4 stops to have damn near everything PS1 and before worth playing, all for under a hund. Just add your few nostalgia hits that are missing and you’re done, like Worms hello?

I picked it over the Miyoo Mini Plus because it was cheaper on the day. They seem much of a muchness, for the most part the USP of either is meh to me, though I did use the mini hdmi for some level/life shenanigans once… I think I would have been happy with whichever one I got.

It certainly has its quirks with the menu button, I never tried analogue stick games with an external controller, because I’ve tonnes of games to get through before I think about Ape Escape.

Anyone willing to drop some learning on a lay person? Is encrypted data less compressable because it lacks the patterns compression relies on?

Or, is it less secure to encrypt first because smart people things? I know enough about cryptography to know I know fuck all about cryptography.
