“People liking me is more important than anything else in my life.”
“People liking me is more important than anything else in my life.”
I hate it as much as anyone else at the moment, and maybe I’m just an optimist, but once more support starts rolling out I think it’s going to be great.
A few weeks ago, X’s director of engineering, Haofei Wang, said the upcoming change is meant to protect users’ public image — because “many people feel discouraged” to like “edgy” content.
Oh my god, he’s trying to make it Reddit.
Suddenly “the court of public opinion” isn’t a good thing anymore, it seems.
I agree with this 100%
I used to love wallowing in bad news, but it just got to the point it was having more of a negative impact than it’s worth. I still pay attention to what’s going on, it just doesn’t need to be via an IV bag all day so I filter most of it out now.
It’s a valid question, yet you get downvoted…
You’re… not wrong… 🤔
This coming from the guy literally picking fights in the conservative community over this…
The font was the perfect touch
Thanks for the insight. It’ll be something to keep in mind going forward.
The place I experienced this the worst was a job where I was in a leadership position, lol. (I have since come to the conclusion that I’m not the leader type)
I’m asking questions based on “physics words” I’ve heard, yeah.
I just used cascade to describe many waves collapsing to create a whole.
I’m asking if the wave functions in the particles around us could collapse in such a way that they could absorb light, or even change the composition of atoms?
Is it really an explanation if it requires something so incredibly unlikely?
Yeah, technically
I should have put more emphasis on the other part: The possibility, however unlikely, that a wave function “cascade” would create (what at least appears to be) a black portal.
I’m not trying to prove that something doesn’t exist. I’m asking if we follow the scientific method, does our current understanding of quantum physics allow for phenomena like this to potentially exist in reality?
Can they be explained by quantum states being in an incredibly unlikely but not impossible state?
I’m just really direct, and get told I need to consider how I say things… The only example coming to mind is something I don’t really want to talk about openly on Lemmy. I’ll give a vague represantation though
(My statements are verbatim, the replies are paraphrased)
I’ll say “You didn’t do XYZ.” - They say “But I have done X”
Next time I try “Have you done XYor Z?” - Then I hear “Why are you interrogating me?”
“What have you done?” - “Why are you being accusatory?”
Those are all plain and simple black and white questions. I have yet to figure out the code I was supposed to speak.
Those examples are from the same person, but I get this reaction from most people when I ask simple questions
I prefer MegaThem.
