Is there a reason why you can’t get an air conditioner? There’s tons of valid reasons why it wouldn’t be an option, I’m just wondering what your situation is. Because nothing is ever gonna work anywhere close to as good as an air conditioner. If you can afford even the smallest air conditioner then it’ll beat every single diy method in most situations
This exactly. At the broadest range you can say there are certain qualities that are more prevalent in one age group compared to another age group, but at the individual person level those trends are meaningless. Any individual person can be conservative or liberal, be caring or selfish, be x or y.
Ya know what else causes blindness? Diabetes and obesity.
Wait, is that true? I mean it clearly would be significantly less effective, but would it really not have enough propulsion to go vaguely forward with enough force to penetrate into a body?
Looks like NYC subway
True, but not paying for maintenance sure does help the executive hit his quarterly numbers to receive a bonus
3.14 petabytes in the whole Netflix catalog
x 1000 converts to TB
/ 402 TB per second
= 7.81 seconds
EDIT oh this is Tb, not TB, so
x 8 to convert bit to Byte
= 62.5 seconds
Someone bought Redbox (the company) in 2022?! Why?!
I’d guess the answer is yes, but not nearly enough
Please try not using initialisms that a general audience won’t know. That’s why i had to look up the previous one and quoted the info so other people wouldn’t have to look it up also. USV doesn’t even show up in a googling
EDIT
I found it, USV means a drone boat
“A close-in weapon system (CIWS) is a point-defense weapon system for detecting and destroying short-range incoming missiles and enemy aircraft which have penetrated the outer defenses, typically mounted on a naval ship. Nearly all classes of larger modern warships are equipped with some kind of CIWS device.”
That makes no sense. Why would the military guy go along with that plan, and then after being caught as planned he then suddenly tells the world about the plan?
Great idea! Accessibility matters!
Nuclear is bad. All existing nuclear plants should remain in service until they age out, but no new nuclear should be built. Nuclear power is very expensive, creates nearly eternal waste disposal problems, and poses huge security risks.
Some people have been misled into thinking nuclear energy is cheap, because they’re only told about the direct cost of generating each watt. But the *actual* cost per watt after you include all costs involved is actually very EXPENSIVE for nuclear. This is called the “Levelized Cost Of Energy” (LCOE).
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levelized_cost_of_electricity
And OP’s article has a quote from the study commission that says it directly.
Quote: “In fact, [nuclear] is one of the most expensive ways to generate electricity according to GenCost [and] the time it would take to design and build nuclear generation would be too slow to replace retiring coal fired generation.”
I think it’s great that this has been captioned so deaf people can appreciate it too

It depends on where and when in the US. In areas that are Democratic (the more liberal party) it doesn’t really happen much anymore, but in areas that are Republican (the more conservative party) it still happens at the start of every single school day.
And the custom of doing this was started by a salesman trying to sell flags and magazine subscriptions. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Bellamy#Pledge_of_Allegiance
