Does this only affect if you are profiting off of those links (like selling ads etc.)?
If yes, I my opinion it should be OK for lemmy as lemmy instances doesn’t make profit ex. selling ads.

This site also collects/shows subreddits on alternative platforms
EDIT: seems like suggestions are closed now because of high traffic 😅
I just installed lemmy link. Seems like lemmy link uses smaller icon next to link.
we can’t specify which domains the extension should
Lemmy links asks for new permission when it detects lemmy instance. You could try doing that instead of asking access to every webpage.
And one suggestion, and don’t know if there is anything you can do, but when you click link and it redirects to your own home instance and page shows 404 (ex. https://suppo.fi/c/cats@lemmy.ml), redirect that to search page and search for that instance in your home community search page.
Because it is connected to your own ISP and it has the same location as you have (if you set it up at yout home). And sharing your own IP to internet.
Basically using self hosted VPN in same location is same as not using VPN as you are exposing same IP to the internet.
VPN doesn’t hide IP, it just routes your traffic to internet via VPN server (and exposes that IP to the internet).
Seems like he’s discussing it on sync discord
Tässäkin asiassa hajauttaminen voisi olla ihan fiksua ja toivottavasti moni ottaa Lemmyn kaveriksi redditin rinnalle
Tätä harrastaakin moni (minä mukaanlukien).
Redditti itsellä tällähetkellä “read only” tilassa (+ adblockit päällä), lemmyyn/kbiniin sitten kirjoitellaan kun on tarvetta.
Loistava uutinen, 2FA tukea hitusen jo odottelin 👌
