It also keeps his friends working who aren’t in front of the camera. If he can take a vacation and get a solid payday for a bunch of people, why not?
Reddit expat. Goodbye, karma!

Dude. Same. I would sometimes make a little sleep mask out of a wash cloth.
I just let my parents think that. Somehow, yanking it seemed less weird.
Since I was a kid. You’re the first person I’ve ever heard talk about it. I guess I always thought it was super weird so i never told anyone.
I prefer the left, but with pineapple.
“None of the helping other people stuff, but all of the misogyny!”
Test? Pff, push live and wait for someone to complain.
Either only the scabs are left, or there’s a concerted smear campaign against the mods who helped with the blackout. I lean towards the latter, but it’s probably both.
Also, he might run it on his show, which adds fuel to the Reddit bonfire.
New posts are currently added to the top of the page, regardless of sorting order. This is a bug.
Maybe if you were sorting by new, you’d want some sort of behavior like that. But it also makes it impossible to look at any posts or comments further down the page.
That’s an interesting idea. Maybe you could even choose the “default subs” for your instance from across lemmy.
Better get to posting so potential new users can see that it’s active!
It’s likely to happen here too, no?
I think Google would still mostly prefer to provide the most relevant results. (When they aren’t trying to scrape data and keep you from ever actually visiting those sites). But SEO is always an arms race.
I’m hopeful that search engines will be able to leverage some AI soon to start surfacing higher quality results.
I think if you credit the original poster, it’s a great idea to grab some of the bestof Reddit posts. There is a lot of really incredible content that could disappear. Combined with Imgur removing a lot of anonymous content from the past decade, sadly it seems like there could be a lot of valuable information that gets lost.
Also, this is my first comment after being on Reddit for 15 years! Where did the time go… I’m glad Reddit didn’t track our hours.
Hi, Lemmy!
me: Now I’m stressed. Time to lay in bed procrastinating until 2:45pm.
