It’s not exciting. It’s boring to watch, at the end of the day that is all it is. I don’t watch men’s basketball either, but I can very clearly see the difference in the game, they’re actually different games entirely.

Nobody actually cares about women’s basketball. Do you watch WNBA?

I know what you’re saying, I’m just confused why this anger is being directed at Mr. Beast of all people. I’m saying he’s doing more for people than most ever will. Maybe he should use his platform for political activism and lobbying, I don’t know. I mean, If he did how far could he go with that when what he’s doing is working well and he is able to help real people without redtape and bureaucracy. Yes he’s playing the capitalist system to help people, but it’s working and he is able to do it because he makes a good show of it. Would he be able to do the same if he dedicated himself to politics? I don’t know.

For sure but Mr. Beast doesn’t actually keep any of the money for himself.

I’m a creative and a designer myself. My philosophy is that at the end of the day the products should be judged by its result. It’s unfortunate because consumers often do not truly appreciate the amount of blood and trouble that goes into works when creatives feel they deserve a break sometimes. Again, at the end of the day, providing explanations why the game is shit is not going to make the game less shit.

What I don’t get about all the criticism lobbied at The Game Awards is that other gaming award shows do exist, and have existed, but people don’t fucking watch them and then they criticize TGA for doing what other awards shows didn’t: get millions to actually watch it.

I almost forgot about that period of VNN. I actually liked the sensationalism, even already knowing most of it was probably wrong, but it was still interesting to listen to especially if I’m not really paying attention, though I can see how that can easily impact his credibility and reputation.

Keep in mind, there are many valid reasons for tracking or things that can be utilized to track or fingerprint you. I however feel there’s no transparency, there is often no basis for trust for these websites and I feel they share/sell data with reckless abandon so it is from that angle I approach issues like these from.

I hear this a lot and while I feel that’s a contributing factor I find it difficult to believe that sexism is the only explanation for the overwhelming male dominance in tech, and both tech and science tend to lean liberal.

The fediverse heavily leans towards men, as does Reddit opposed to TikTok and Instagram where those social media apps lean towards women. From what I understand men outnumber women 10:1 on the fediverse.

We are still in it’s infancy, the thing is even Reddit used to be this bad when it comes to that. I believe there’s here’s a certain point of critical mass that sites like these have to reach before you have a sustaining women population. But as the fediverse grows women focused communities are certain to grow albeit at a slower rate.

With that said keep expectations in check; while there’s no reason women can’t be as involved and active as men are it seems that sites focused on text-based forum discussions has a broader appeal towards males. Don’t understand why that is but it just means that it will lean towards males, so the demographics will always be skewed.
