  • it’s most probably russia

It is likely. But the way this thread developed, people were simply jumping to conclusions. I don’t like these reflexive accusations.

    pre made text

Huh? No, it was written in the moment.

changing rhe goalpoasts is another bad actor technique, just saying.

I just referred to the obvious example for another high-seas sabotage action that wasn’t fully resolved yet, from the same war. The reason for that was to illustrate that it may take a while to see through spin.

Not sure which goal posts you think were moved by this.

  • Reading her Wikipedia entry, it sounds like she was dismissed for being too much of a Scholz loyalist. And that kind of matches my recollection: She was careful to discuss everything with Scholz and to not cross him, whereas her [suc]cessor just took matters in his own hands and ran with it.

According to a media report, in the discussion about the possible delivery of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, which intensified at the end of 2022, she forbade her ministry from even recording its own stock of Leopard 2 and Leopard 1 tanks, as knowledge of deliverable stocks could potentially have put further pressure on Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz. [DeepL, Wikipedia]

  • From my view, three things:

    • I’d encourage you to add the date to the post title, as it is more than a week old, i.e. like “Elon Musk’s X banned in Brazil: Could Europe follow suit (2024-10-09)”. This is not a rule of this community but good style, imo. Edit: It actually is a rule, I just forgot. :/
    • The article mentions Europe in passing only, in the final paragraph. The vast majority of the text is a (now outdated!) description of the situation in Brazil. As such, I find it a bit questionable whether this fits !europe.
    • I never heard of the source. This seemingly being a Maltese news blog(?) without (?) a clear subject focus makes me a bit wary. (On the plus side, the site is much larger than SEO spam sites and has more authors.)
