Avatar is a lemming in bed because this account wasn’t intended to be used except for creating communities… and then my instance announced it was closing.
I was going to put Bedfordshire in brackets next to that, but I forgot. I knew it could cause confusion!
I don’t think it’s the same thing? Fedigrow is discussing how to grow, whereas this one is for posting communities and asking for people to post in them (to help them grow). Similar, but not the same. I think if fedigrow was inundated with “please post in xxxx community” that would be annoying, whereas here it’s expected.
I think the rest of my communities haven’t seen activity lately, so I’ll have to post in them first!
They were good before (and please correct me if I’ve got this wrong) EB bought them and did a “reverse takeover”. Since that point they’ve been going downhill.
I’m waiting for the headlines “Douglas is Cancelled is Cancelled”
More photos in the comments of the original post!
There’s a BBC News link here too: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cekk7gm97j4o
I didn’t realise there were any in the UK (or maybe I forgot), and there’s a recent one in Wales: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-68547161
Maybe you’re looking for !folklore@mander.xyz
Why? Because they’re mine and they need more love.
Do you ever get that thing where the more you look at a word the more it looks wrong? I’m getting that with “would” and “could” after reading this thread.
Hmm, maybe it’s one per ear?!
Apparently this is the one thing which is controlled by a single gene, and works as you were taught in school with dominant and recessive traits.
Nothing else does, including the things you were taught like eye and hair colour - they are much more complicated.
I don’t think I’ve ever used Dear to start an email; always Hi for as long as I remember.
I don’t like To, it always seems like a command rather than a greeting. I write it on cards and stuff but it always leaves a niggling feeling of wrongness.
If it calls for 200g of aubergine, then you can weigh that at the shop… It’s more convenient at that end, and you can get the right amount.
Depends what it is. In this instance I was buying cups of fruit, how many cups are there to a punnet? I already have the weight on the packaging, so if I know the weight I need it’s much easier.
I’m amazed they are that uncommon. Here (UK) you can walk into a supermarket and pick them up for less than £20.
Some good answers here, thanks everyone, I’ve learnt some stuff today. 🙂
Thanks, have edited. Somebody did tell me that ages ago, but I’d forgotten!
