The announcement is missing mentioning that any content tagged aw NSFW will not be accessible from their app. This was one of the biggest points that made the API changes impracticable for app devs, charging a very significant amount of money for a reduced experience .
It does, to a degree.
One of the ways Lemmy sorts posts is by local. being on a bigger/busier instance will return more stuff there. Also ‘All’ will return stuff from communities that at least one person from your instance have subscribed, so same thing, more users more results.
Another thing to look for is instances position on defederating other communities, requirements for email/application, etc…
Ideally you will find a community that appeals to you.
I picked lemmy.fmhy.ml without knowing much. I did so because they allowed NSFW without being a NSFW community. I couldn’t be happier with my decision
Good luck and enjoy the lemmyverse
My instance admins upgraded and enabled application while they wait for the captcha. It’s not ideal, but it will help keep the bot horde at bay for a bit
He also has a patron
Make it a rule that all post be NSFW so Reddit can’t monetize it
I can’t explain how much this pisses me off
You can try this
This seems like a loophole. So, you go to one of those communities and post ilegal stuff and that’s visible for everyone in your communities but the mods don’t see it so can’t moderate it?
As I was posting in the other thread, they are blocking almost 300 communities and the reason for these last two is that having four mods they can’t keep up with the huge influx of users. What is worse, they call it temporary until there are better moderation tools, but reading further what they hope for is the ability to block external users while allowing theirs to browse other communities
Jerboa for Android is still early stages, but it does the job.
Hand them over to Elon Musk, so he can sink them
