My wife took my last name because she had her father’s last name. He abandoned her shortly after birth and never attempted to get in touch with her. He quit jobs to avoid paying support. She did it to remove that last vestige of him from her life. Had she had her mother’s last name we would have hyphenated our names together.

Freeze them after washing them. When I was a kid we did not have a dryer, and dried clothes on a clothesline. One thing I loved about the winter was how soft my clothes felt after they froze on the line before drying.

Do you have a non plastic plate that is larger than the opening of the pot? Then you have a lid! I used to have cookware I purchased from thrift stores and yard sales. Some had lids, some did not. But a plate works. Hell even a cutting board (careful if it is wood, mine are bamboo and dishwasher safe) works.
