Forgive my ignorance if this is just something I don’t know.

Is there a way to have custom feeds through either Sync or Lemmy itself? For example, when I am just on the main screen in Sync and I press on explore I have three feeds: everything, local, and subscribed. Is there a way to create a custom feed there where I can select certain communities to show in the feed?

There isn’t one, but it has been requested on GitHub. No clue on a timeline, I think security, general stability and federation is the focus currently.

I’m still new to Lemmy as well, but I think subscribed it what you want. I scrolled through everything a lot in the beginning, once you see a community you like, click on their name and select join.

You can also search for communities and join them as well.

This adds that community to your subscribed feed. Is that what you are looking for?

I think OP wants to aggregate certain topics on the same feed. For example, there are a couple of technology communities across different instances, with a custom feed you could have everything in one place.

It kinda works on the subscribed feed, but you just have everything instead of specific topics.

So subscribed would be so the communities I sub to, where what I’m looking for is a customized feed of a select few of those. Say I follow a whole bunch of communities, but sometimes I was to scroll through only the ones that are anime related etc.

Wouldn’t you want to add the tree to favorites? Then you can select that feed and it will pull up all the communities that are in it only.
