If you watch the clip he’s only caught off-guard that the audience didn’t even wait for a punchline; he clearly isn’t totally surprised that people support him at all

it seems like colin or his script was under pressure to not say anything that showed any support. that is definitely censorship.
i don’t think he would have said anything shocking. but still… he said nothing.

Well of course it’s censorship. It’s NBC. Owned by Comcast. Colin is thinking of the shareholders. Why aren’t you?

He appeared shocked because he’s joking about being shocked, which often includes “appearing shocked.”

Omg huffpo, that wasn’t shocked. That was Jost knowing exactly what would happen.

This is so dumb—watch the video! The whole joke was that “Bumble exploded”—would someone who didn’t know Luigi Mangione is popular make that joke?

Note that for Weekend Update, Colin Jost and Michael Che write the jokes for each other, and they don’t see them until they’re reading them live.

The richy-richy-richersons don’t understand. And Colin is rich from his partner’s wealthy lifestyle work.

They just don’t get it. I am against the murder as much as I am against the murder of abortion doctors.

But if you have had this system sitting on your head for any amount of time …

Stop saying you don’t advocate it. There is seriously nothing wrong with killing people who hurt other people, especially for profit. There is nothing wrong with advocating for their death, after literally everything else has failed.

I really hope this becomes as frequent as school shootings. Maybe those school shooters will find a more appropriate way to vent whatever that crap is.

I disagree. I think it’s perfectly fine to be against the death penalty, which is basically what this was, minus the judicial process.

So what do you think should happen to people who kill people through policy and are not ever going to be prosecuted? Those people will never get justice, but you seem to be fine with that?

I’m not fine with it personally. I think bad people at the very least need to be kept in check.

I do think that being against the death penalty is a valid opinion. “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” and such.

I would never advocate his method as a first option, but it’s not like the healthcare companies just now started hurting people. Lots of people over lots of time, eventually that distills into one shot of very strong liquor

Yep. How many decades are people supposed to wait while they see that their votes never get them any sort of change no matter which of the two corporatist parties who take money from that industry are in charge? If voting and protesting doesn’t work, what option is left?

At least Mangione did something, and he did it at great personal sacrifice.

I do advocate his methods. I hope he inspires many more heroes. I hope 2025 is the year of many more dead parasites.
