Getting rid of misinformation is great.
Getting rid of accurately reported, gruesome images because of a government mandate flies in the face of the core principles of free speech. And it would cause real damage to the world.
Remember that it was only when the world actually saw images of the Nazi concentration camps that the world actually believed it. They’d heard about it for years, but it was largely ignored.
We have a lot of nightmare scenarios in the future: Trump wins, Trump loses and we get insurrection part II, Biden wins and we don’t take the house and keep the Senate, and we have at least 2 more years of gridlock while our lives continue to get shittier, etc etc.
The true tragedy is that there isn’t even a good outcome in the mix. Biden wins and Democrats take Congress. Fine, will they fix the courts? Fix student loans? Will they even try for universal healthcare? Universal Basic Income? Anything even close to meeting the moment?
So depressing.
Anyway, vote Biden so at least we don’t wind up in a fascist dictatorship.

The only reason it hasn’t is because companies have barely started to comprehend what it can do.
Within 5 years the entire world will have been revolutionized by this technology. Jobs will evaporate faster than anyone is talking about.
If you’re very smart, and you begin to use gpt-4 to write the tools that will replace you, then you MIGHT have 10 good years left in this economy before humans are all but obsolete.
If you’re not staying up nights, scared shitless by what’s coming, it’s because you don’t really understand what gpt-4 can do.

Well, the DNC absolutely kneecapped Bernie when he was running against Hillary. I mean, we literally have the emails to prove it.
Against Biden, the issue wasn’t the DNC as much as it was Elizabeth Warren refusing to consolidate the liberals behind Bernie as the moderates consolidated behind Biden. The final nail in the coffin was the prominent black leader who thew his support to Biden and handed him a critical victory in one of the southern states. This always annoyed me deeply, because Bernie was literally out there getting arrested to fight for their civil rights while Biden was on the wrong side of the busing civil rights issue.
Oh well. At least Bernie dragged Biden much farther left than he would have been.
The solution is so simple. Vote overwhelming for progressive, and get rid of the centrists and Republicans.
We’d have free, universal healthcare within a couple of years.
The main reason that outsourcing is cheaper is that foreign countries don’t have safety or labor standards.
All the progress that unions made suddenly evaporated when we allowed employers to hire foreign companies with lower safety and labor standards.
Now, maybe we should just accept that economic competition and economic competitiveness demand including those unprotected workforces. Fine. For third-world countries, even exploitative factory jobs might be preferable to alternatives.
If we accept that that’s the case, is still unjust for business owners to reap the rewards of circumventing labor and safety standards while American workers lose jobs and have their wages depressed.
Every single cent of outsourcing profit should be taxed at 100 percent, and redistributed to American workers through government programs or tax cuts for workers.
Yeah, I see denouncing and illustrating terrorist attacks as a good thing.
